The rapid increase in film business has put the spotlight on our exclusive actors. From Gran Torino to Gifted Hands; from Betty Ann Waters to Up in the Air, fame has bestowed itself upon many of our talent. However, none of this acclaim has been more deserved than the local celebrity given to our agent extraordinaire: Tony DiMambro.
Starting with a featured spot in a Fox 2 news segment last fall, Tony has been in a variety of articles and features regarding the emerging Detroit film industry. Most significantly, Tony joined a web-cast round table discussion, with fellow industry leaders Chris Baum of myfilmdetroit.com and Jeff Spillman of S3, hosted by Bill Spencer of Channel 7. Tony received calls from viewers and spoke at length about evolving developments and opportunities in Michigan’s film industry.
Following his internet appearance, Tony was featured on TV20 News and in Central Michigan Life, CMU’s Campus Newspaper. In June Tony made his second appearance in the Detroit Free Press, an article that was also featured in the online magazine California Chronicle. Each feature prominently detailed the role The i GROUP and our talent have played in transforming the film industry in Michigan and described the opportunities available to new and aspiring talent.
Furthermore, Tony is writing for the new DBusiness blog site, dedicated to promoting business in the Detroit Metro Area. DBusiness, a sister publication of Hour Detroit, is Detroit’s premier business journal. Tony, is honored to be writing a weekly blog about the entertainment industry in Michigan that will include updates on film and advertising projects and other media related events.
